'Ola! We're Clio and Adrian, surprised to find ourselves here in this paradise in Portugal, restoring and reclaiming a 'quinta', smallholding, abandoned for 50 years to tree high brambles. Most are cleared now, domestic buildings restored, tons of landslide dug out of the olive press building, 'levadas' flowing, fruit trees and vegetables growing, most olive trees pruned...honoured to be part of the wave of people returning to the land, working to reveal what our ancestors built with such huge effort, wisdom, and skill over generations. Unveiling the jewel of Portugal.
Adrian's passion is restoring the little mill and big olive press with the intention/ dream of serving the local community grinding grain and, pressing their olives long term, co operatively with exchange rather than money, and generating hydro power
Clio is wild about the wild beauty here, wild food, growing food in the spiral vegetable garden watered by the levada, tending the land, river, olive terraces, painting with the Earth, deep communion with nature, singing, dancing, simple and canny crafts... holding the vision that this be a sanctuary for others too

Getting a 'xist' stone roof on the little mill, restoring the workings and inventing and installing a hydro system
digging landslide out of the levada
