Welcome to Retiro no Rio

Our quinta lies in the green center of Portugal and has direct access to the river Mondego. We, a Dutch couple of 52 and 43, have 3 apartments, 2 caravans and 2 bedrooms to let. We bought this quinta in november 2007 and have done a lot of work already.
However, the fruittrees we planted need an irrigation system, our vegetable garden and flower garden need to be developed and maintained, the olivetrees and grapevines need attention. Then there is the woods, our quinta has about 6 hectares of woods with a variety of trees (pines, oaks, medronho etc.) It is necessary to maintain the woods well to reduce the risk of fire. The buildings have to be painted and maintained, we would like to extend the campsite and we want to build a shed for our tractor and watersport equipment.

Please note our place is very quiet, lots of nature (river beach and forest). The nearest village is at 30 minutes walk or at 5 minutes drive.

We ask you to work mornings, 4 hours a day, 6 days a week. We offer accommodation depending on availability or, if you prefer, you can bring your own tent, caravan or camper. We provide your breakfast (milk, coffee, tea, sugar, juice, cereals to be taken individually) and will cook a proper lunch which we will eat together. In the evenings we are busy doing other jobs so you will have to look after yourself.
You can use our swimming pool, canoes, bycicles, fishing rods etc. etc.
Drink and/or drugs abuse will not be tolerated.
