The Moinhos do Dao is run by a Dutch family and a group of long time volunteers (‘regulars’). The family van Dien bought this piece of land 22 years ago and step by step turned it into a unique spot for experiencing eco and rural tourism. We are located in a tranquil valley in an ecological reserve. Please visit our website for more information and good pictures of our little paradise.
The Moinhos is open between April and October and during these months we work with a team of volunteers on maintenance of the grounds, tending the gardens, and developing and maintaining ecologically sound systems for our resources such as electricity (water and solar generated), water supplies, and food for the team and guests.
We are mainly looking for WOOFF volunteers in the spring and fall who have some experience with either permaculture design, and/or general garden maintenance, and handyman work. We need assistance with planning and planting our garden for the summer season, with tree work and with maintenance on our water supply systems. (hand pump, gasoline pump, water storage reservoir, and pipes network.)
