We are a working project with lots of varied activity, and it is important to realise that much of the work can be quite physical, for example, planting trees on the hillsides involves digging and making swales (ditches dug along the contours). Each day has structured work and those wanting to learn about permaculture and its ways will have plenty of opportunity to do so.
This autumn we are looking for help planting trees, digging swales, and for help in the vegetable garden. An opportunity also exists for someone to help build a timber and earth round-house here. We ask for 5 working hours per day, 5 days per week.
How do we live? Working on developing the Várzea to be low-maintenance and a productive diverse ecosystem. WWOOFers share the communal kitchen, often we all eat together but not always.
We are 6km east of Aljezur, the nearest small town, 34 km north from Lagos, 15km from the nearest beaches.
There is a bus from Lisboa to Aljezur. From Faro, there is a train to Lagos, then a bus to Aljezur, from where we collect you.
