Unsure of my travel plans, will be available July 5 - Early August + All of September

Hi Everybody!

I have contacted some of the hosts already, but I thought I would put some information out there and see who might be interested in having me for awhile this summer.

Earlier this spring I was planning my trip, but that has had to take a back seat while I got the planting season organized at my non-profit farm. www.veggielution.org We're about to acquire another acre of City-owned land in the heart of Silicon Valley - ao there's a lot of work to do before I leave for Portugal. My flight arrives on Terceira Island on June 22 and departs back to the States October 7.

I will spend a lot of time on the Azores visiting family, but I hope to be on mainland Portugal between July 5 and early August, and possibly again during September. I would love to spend 1-2 weeks at maybe 2-3 different WWOOF hosts, or possibly a longer period of time at one place if I have the opportunity to learn a lot.

Mainly I'm interested in organic vegetable production but I'm also interested in grapes, sheep, goats, olives, and citrus. I have a couple of years gardening/small scale farming experience but I have a lot to learn! Other types of work (land clearing, construction etc.) would be fine too. I know a good amount about drip irrigation.

I'm on a budget so where-ever I stay is dependent on how easily I can get there. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need help!

Hey Mark
we are based in the Alto Minho, the zone of highest rainfall in the far North (i'm sure you know it already). We have a challenging bit of land here, on terraces, in need of some interesting irrigation solutions. We're away or busy with research/work, etc. till end July. You are welcome after that. Facilities are basic until we get them built and running, etc. Which is also part of the challenge.
More info on our presentation bit, I think it's up now, under A Casa de Senhor Felix (the old name of the house/land).
Will try to organise photos later.
