Bunk house style accommodation (2 double beds and 1 single, shared shower). Breakfast is usually milk and cereals at 8:00. You will need to cook your own meal on days off, ingredients will be available in the kitchen, the rest of the time you eat whatever we are eating. Small and very basic kitchen (1 gas ring, no oven or microwave) available for guests. Big rule: Always clear up after yourself!
Bring work clothes, nothing you are too attached to, you wash your own clothes by hand, we have a washing tank available.
You will be expected to work 5 hours a day, 5 days a week (usually 8:30 to 13:30 but this can be flexible depending on what needs to be done). Chores include: cleaning stables, animals and tack cleaning forest, painting buildings and other maintenance, collecting stones (for building), walking goats, gardening, washing up, anything! These are just examples of what normally needs doing, no particular skill needed just willingness to work.
There is plenty of forest land great for walks. If you are a good rider then you are welcome to do some riding (always confirm with us first). The bus stop is about 2.5 km form our farm with a very irregular bus service into town, or you can catch a lift with us if we are going in the right direction at the right time.
