Host AG103

The farm has traditionally planted trees for this region and climate respecting the arid landscape and water shortage. Apart from the carob and olive trees we recently planted fig and almond trees.

We are looking for people to pick the figs (1.5 ha) early in the morning during the first two and a half weeks in June 2018. We need 4 people (maybe 2 couples or 1 couple and 2 friends). We work for 5 hours with a mid-morning break and the afternoons will be free to explore the area including the beaches nearby. The work has two moments, initially in the field (picking) and later organizing and making boxes for delivery. Myself and my son (an agronomist) will orient newcomers on all aspects of the work. Daily work is completed by the midday meal that is prepared locally and we strive for a varied and nutritious experience.

The guest house has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen and living room with TV and Wifi. There is a terrace outside which overlooks the sea and where we can sit and have our meals.

There are bicycles available to make different excursions around the area and to get to the beach but we can also give you a lift to the surrounding towns. Fuzeta is 4 km away, Tavira is 6 km away and Faro airport is 16 km away.

For anybody who is musically inclined there is a piano, a guitar and a banjo available.

Here you will have a unique experience, a genuine rural living rhythm with the possibility of nearby town amenities (Tavira) for a change in pace. We strive to make your stay an enjoyable and learning one.
