- build caravan roof
- cut weed (using hand or motor tools)
- start raised beds
The land is located in the mountains, between Terra Quente (http://www.amtqt.pt/) and Douro Valley (http://www.dourovalley.eu/), at 500m altitude, north facing, with stunning views of the Tua dam. It has about 1ha and it was abandoned for more than 20 years.
We are still cleaning it.
We began 4 swales and a pond.
We started building a cord wood house.
We need help to prune trees and to do raised beds and herb spirals.
Pending Projects: rocket stove mass heater, solar cooker, solar food drier, clay oven, green house, solar power/energy.
To the WWOOFers:
We need DO`ers and motivated helpers. You need to like hard work and have the energy, power and health for it.
We welcome people with knowledge and experience in natural building and gardening. Skills to handle a chainsaw and a mowing are welcome. As we are about to start timber framing constructions, carpenter skills are very, very welcome.
As winter season brings us temperatures around zero (0ºC), please bring waterproof clothing and boots; warm work clothes; gloves; a torch; a towel; a good sleeping bag; if you like, your own cup or water bottle, fork and spoon.
Personal products asked to be ecological and environmental friendly.
And, for your mobile, if you can, bring your solar charger and your power bank.
We ask all WWOOFers to allow us to copy the ID and to sign the WWOOF agreement (that you must bring with you) as formulated by WWOOF Portugal:
You will be asked to be in full awareness, not under influence of any stimulating substance, such as alcohol or other drugs.

We don't have internet on Nabais. But 2km away, there is a coffee with the internet.
Mobile reception is also limited.
Poor public transport`s service.
Live in vehicles are welcome.
